Contains

10 g/L abamectin, 200 g/L levamisole.

Abamectin is a member of the macrocyclic lactones. It is effective against internal and external parasites sensitive to this family. Levamisole is a member of the imidazothiazole class of anthelmintics with efficacy against internal parasites sensitive to this family, including lungworm.

Indications

INTERNAL WORMS: The product will treat and control sensitive strains of mature and immature Ostertagia ostertagi*, O. lyrata*, Cooperia oncophora*, C. surnabada*, C. punctata*, Trichostrongylus axei, T. longispicularis, (*including inhibited fourth stage larvae), mature Trichuris, and adult and immature lungworm (Dictyocaulus viviparus).

EXTERNAL PARASITES: The product will treat and control sensitive strains of both sucking (Linognathus vituli) and biting (Damalinia bovis) lice.

Recommended Use

Timing of treatments will depend on the parasite pressure on individual farms. Diagnostic testing and historical results including faecal egg counts (FECs), faecal egg count reduction tests (FECRTs) and larval cultures can help you to understand and manage the parasite burden and resistance challenges facing your cattle.

Talk to your local vet about parasite management practices for your area to reduce the development of resistance. It is advisable that a resistance test be conducted regularly when using any parasite treatment.

Precautions

Do not use on animals which are severely stressed or in ill health. Care should be taken in handling pregnant animals. Do not exceed recommended dose rates. Doses of 3 or more times the recommended can cause symptoms of levamisole toxicity, so estimate liveweights carefully. Dehydrated animals may be more susceptible to toxicity. Fatal interactions occur between levamisole and organophosphate dips.

Dosage Guide ― Cattle

Dose rate is 1 mL/20kg body weight (0.5 mg/kg abamectin and 10 mg/kg levamisole). Apply along the backline from between the shoulders to the tail using the applicator. Check the accuracy of drench guns regularly.

For cattle over 660 kg: Dose at 1 mL per 20 kg b.w. (2.5 mL/50kg body weight).

A representative sample of animals should be weighed before treatment either with scales or a weighband. Dose rate to be based on the heaviest cattle in each group. DO NOT UNDERDOSE. If there is a large variation in size within the group draft into two or more lines based on bodyweight to avoid excessive over dosing.

See product label for full claim details and directions for use. ACVM No. A009270.
